This week we have the incredible Greg Broadmore on to discuss his journey as an artist, starting with his humble beginnings as an illustrator for childrens books, spanning all the way to working Weta for over 10 years on projects such as Lord of the Rings, District 9, and the now defunct Halo movie.

Greg also spearheaded the design for the Weta produced Dr. Grordbort line of rayguns and has gone on to write several books set in the fictional universe.

Our guest this week is the talented concept artist, James Zapata.  James is a self-taught illustrator and concept artist, who has produced projects for Applibot and Wizards of the Coast.

Ep. 28 - Jono Yuen

Our guest this week is Jonathan Yuen from Melbourne, Australia.  He is the author and creator of  HUDS + GUIS, alongside his full time job of designing interactive experiences as Head of Art for the digital agency, Tribal DDB.

I first found out about Jonathan via his project website hudsandguis.com, where he is able to share his love and passion for film and video game heads-up display (HUD) and graphical user interface (GUI).

Through our talks, I further discovered that Jonathan also enjoys illustration and design.  He is an artist of many talents indeed.  Needless to say, it was truly great having him on this podcast.  It was a terrific opportunity to discuss his family life, career aspirations, passion projects, and how he manages to fuel his creative needs.

Ep. 27 - Scott Ross

Our guest this week is Scott Ross. Scott grew up in the Bronx NYC, where he came from humble beginnings. He decided that being a musician didn't help pay the bills, and so Scott found himself a new venture in the business of making movies. He progressed his way up through the ranks and became the Executive CEO of George Lucas' company, Industrial Light and Magic, and then Senior Vice President of LucasArts Entertainment Company.

He later forged his own path in the industry by creating the world renowned visual effects house, Digital Domain, which had large impact on films such as Fight Club, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, 2012, Transformers, Titanic, Apollo 13, among many other notable films.

Scott's career has seen many rewards and challenges, but through all these transitions, Scott has consistently based his choice in selecting the paths that would allow him to follow his dreams.
